EGR Conference Call - 08/28

Here are the minutes from the EGR conference call last night. It was another great conversation!
Some highlights and action items:
*As the program year is starting, now is a great time to remind your congregations to fill out the online MDG survey (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=ky1DycqqjAkPULvty3sK1g_3d_3d) or (http://tinyurl.com/2t47gw). instructions for accessing data from completed surveys will be sent in an email to this list later this morning.
*Also, if you want to make your own MDG survey with more specific questions tailored to your congregation or diocese, you can use EGR's surveymonkey account. Email EGR administrative assistant Marguy McVey at e4gradm@gmail.com and she'll set you up.
*There was unanimous enthusiasm about having a page on the website dedicated to diocesan conventions -- with handouts, interactive projects, resolutions ... anything that people planning an EGR/MDG presence at their diocesan convention can use. Mike will work with Bill Monk to get this up.
*A need to have credible experts that people/congregations/dioceses can confer with as they look to set up microfinance programs with companion dioceses (and other places) was expressed. Two people (Craig Cole of Five Talents and Dabbs Cavin of Opportunity INternational Bank in Rwanda) have offered to be in contact (or to connect people with others to be in contact) with people looking to explore this. We will also look at making a simple "best practices" document for publication on the website.

EGR Conference Call Minutes - 07/15

Call Highlights
1. Next week, ONE and EPPN will be sending out advocacy alerts about the Farm Bill. This is a critical piece of legislation. Watch for the alerts and spread them as widely as possible -- we need a HUGE response. To learn more about the Farm Bill go to http://www.episcopalchurch.org/3654_82673_ENG_HTM.htm .
2. The next Eat In To Help Out target date is the week of October 14-20, to correspond with Stand Up Against Poverty and other anti-poverty events that week. Find out how to host a dinner at www.eatin2helpout.org.
3. The Congregational MDG Survey is up and running at http://tinyurl.com/2t47gw -- please distribute the link to contacts in all your diocese's congregations. This will be an annual survey and is a critical piece of tracking our work. Diocesan contacts will be able to access the data and sort it to see their own diocese.

EGR Conference Call - 6/26

Call Highlights
*The first Sunday in Lent, 2008 will be ONE/ERD Sunday. Put it on your calendars now. We're being asked to use that Sunday to raise money for ERD's MDG Inspiration Fund.
*Have some friends over for dinner on 07/07/07 for "Eat In to Help Out" to raise awareness and funds for the MDGs. Go to www.eatin2helpout.org for more info and resources.
*If you or someone you know is interested in working on children/youth curriculum with Tracey Herzer of NAECED, email Mike (MKInman@gmail.com ) names and email contact info
*MDG congregational surveys were reviewed and ammended. Online version will be up on SurveyMonkey.com by end of the week. Word doc. of non-online survey is attached.
*EGR is putting a call out for sermons, theological papers, litanies, prayers -- anything that puts our MDG ministry in faith context. Send them (or direct people) to e4gradm@gmail.com.
*If you're willing to be a traveling speaker in your area about the MDGs/global reconciliation -- or know someone who is, email names and contact info to e4gradm@gmail.com.

August 9 - EGR Conference Call

EGR Conference Call Highlights
The only new action item is a flyer Elizabeth Henry will create and send to Tracey Herzer, noting the dual events in October: the next "Eat In to Help Out" campaign (administrated by Elizabeth) and the "Stand Up Against Poverty" global campaign.
The former action items continue to be relevant:
